Words

They are but just words.
In prose or in verse.

What difference does it make?
It is for your intake!

If they be your light,
Then the effort is right.

In your mind's depth,
They find their worth.

Unkind words,
Hit harder than stones.

Take care that no unthought word
escape your lips or mind.

For it will undo,
What you strive to do.

Alone

We were built in pairs,
Every bit to share.

'Social animals' we are,
For others we care.

Never meant to be alone,
To be just one.

They are out there,
You must find where!

That certain companion,
Who ensures you are never alone.

Maybe a lover, maybe your spouse.
Maybe a friend, or even a pet in the house.

Could be one, could be many.
Will stand by you for "all" and "any".

When the going gets tough,
They smoothen the rough.

When life goes dull,
They shorten the lull.

You'll run into them someday,
Life changes forever that day.

As birds flock ashore,
you'll be alone no more.
