The shortest, but the most beautiful, flight I've ever been on :)
I was on a flight to Bangaluru to attend a conference
I have been on flights before and I have sat on window seats on many of those occasions
But it was different this time :)
We rose above the clouds and I saw a sight breathtakingly beautiful
it was a whole new landscape in white ...floating in air ...like the earth covered in snow
there were chasms ...rugged mountains... plains ...like undulating rolls of pure white cotton
another layer of clouds stretched above ...it hung like mist above this landscape
clouds colliding with mountain peaks seemed like foaming waves of the sea that had been frozen in its wake
everything seemed to be standing still ...though the pilot assured us that were were going at thousands of miles an hour speed at very high altitudes
on my right, the moon shone ...the moon rays were filtering through the mist
the whole scene was surrealist
the moon was a large white disc rolling on the mist ...it became brighter as the sun set ...the mist surrounding it slowly took on a pinkish hue ...which then went on to don blue and black progressively
it climbed in all its glory ...like a diamond in the sky
by then we were hovering above bangaluru
I looked down and it seemed as though the stars had descended on the earth ...there were zillions of tinkling lights on the ground ...there were strings of lights cutting across the landscape, which, I later learnt, were roads choked with traffic
I have never seen sights so beautiful in my life ...I feel so sad my words fail to paint it well enough
